Senior Maintenance Manager - Province of Varese

Due to significant growth within our Energy business, WSP is seeking to strengthen its Decommissioning & Waste Management Programme team with the appointment of a Senior Maintenance Manager, based on-site in the Province of Varese.

YOUR NEW ROLE, WHAT'S INVOLVED?
YOUR TEAM
As Maintenance Manager, you will provide technical leadership and operational oversight for maintenance activities delivered by contractors, ensuring alignment with programme objectives, client requirements and regulatory obligations.
Your responsibilities will include:
· Managing, coordinating and supervising preventive, corrective and extraordinary maintenance activities across civil, mechanical, electrical, instrumentation and related disciplines.
· Defining maintenance priorities and intervention plans in collaboration with the Client and Works Management.
· Leading multidisciplinary teams of engineers, technicians and supervisors while providing coaching and mentoring support.
· Reviewing and approving technical maintenance documentation, reports, procedures, work packages and engineering deliverables.
· Supervising dimensional, topographic, photographic and 3D laser scanning surveys and validating outputs for project use.
· Managing technical documentation, records and archiving systems, including Life Records files, in accordance with client quality requirements.
· Monitoring maintenance KPIs, budgets and programme progress, providing regular reporting to internal stakeholders and the Client.
· Acting as the primary technical interface with Client representatives, Works Management and supporting functional units.
· Ensuring compliance with health, safety, radiation protection and quality assurance requirements across all maintenance activities.
· Supporting the wider Decommissioning & Waste Management Programme and related operational activities as required.
WHAT IF IT WAS YOU?
We're looking for a technically strong and collaborative professional who can bring leadership, engineering expertise and a proactive approach to maintenance management. Ideally, you will have:
· A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering or a related technical discipline.
· More than 12 years of professional experience in maintenance management, supervision, and coordination of multidisciplinary engineering activities.
· Experience gained within nuclear, decommissioning, energy, heavy industrial or other highly regulated environments.
· Proven leadership experience managing multidisciplinary teams and contractor organisations.
· Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, civil and associated engineering systems.
· Experience reviewing technical documentation, drawings, BIM models and maintenance deliverables.
· Familiarity with maintenance management standards such as EN 13306 and ISO 55000 series.
· Excellent analytical, organisational and problem-solving skills.
· Fluent English (minimum B1 level) and Italian language capability at B2 level or above.
· Ability to work within classified areas and maintain compliance with all applicable safety and radiation protection requirements.

Compensation & Benefits
WSP is committed to pay transparency. The annual gross salary range for this position is €55,000 - €70,000. The final offer will be determined based on the successful candidate's experience, qualifications and relevant expertise. In addition to base salary, we offer a benefits package and opportunities for professional development.
