Junior Process Engineer - Rome
WSP has a new opportunity for a Junior Process Engineer to join our Engineering Services team on a full-time contract basis, based in one of our offices in Rome.

YOUR NEW ROLE, WHATS INVOLVED?
Under close supervision, you will perform the routine aspects of engineering assignments requiring knowledge and application of basic engineering principles.
Using prescribed methods, performs specific and limited portions of engineering assignments.
Compiles, verifies and correlates data relating to process engineering problems.
Assists in conceptual designs, studies, reports, proposals and preparation of process deliverables.
Performs calculations, simulations and basic preliminary analyses.
Uses computer programs as directed.
Assists in detailed development of established design concepts for process systems and equipment.
Participates in preparation of material requisitions, specifications and other related documents.
Coordinates assigned work with other technical personnel as directed.
Assists in development and verification of project controls documents and status rep.
WHAT IF IT WAS YOU?
Basic knowledge of water chemistry and water treatment processes.
Basic technical knowledge of systems calculations, equipment, applications of methods, process flow diagrams (PFD’s), piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&ID’s), plant layout, materials, process engineering calculations.
Basic knowledge of industry/ regulatory codes and standards, and design and/or layout criteria pertinent to the process discipline.
Learning to be consultant and/or designer - Able to produce quality deliverables within scope, schedule and budget. Course corrections along the way are expected, especially for new grads, however ability to work within scope, schedule and budget, and/or communicate issues on tasks owned is a core expectation of this level.
Decisions: Few technical decisions called for and these will be of routine nature with ample precedent or clearly defined procedures and guidelines. Work requires accuracy in calculations, completeness of data and adherence to prescribed analysis, design or computational methods.
Receives operational supervision and technical guidance from more senior engineers.
May provide technical direction as appropriate to others who perform specific design support assignments.
May assign and check work of less experienced personnel.
Work in immediate work group and interfaces with other disciplines as specifically directed.
Able to follow through on commitments
Ability to articulate well in written communications evolving into technical writing proficiency
Practices safe behaviors in the field and office settings
Willing to perform any task put in front of them
Accepts and seeks out coaching and feedback – Shows willingness and ability to apply feedback
Able to manage personal workload and multiple commitments
Demonstrates growth potential both from soft skill and technical skill perspectives
Understands the importance of building a network across the business unit and although may need assistance keeping 100% busy, by the end of their time at this level has the beginning of an established network of technology peers, project and task managers feeding them workload.
Education and experience
Degree in engineering discipline.
2 years’ experience.
